Summer Reading Challenge

THE READING AGENCY AND READING LIBRARIES PRESENT

Get ready to get SILLY! The Summer Reading Challenge launches in Reading on Thursday 16th July and runs until Saturday 5th September. For this year’s digital challenge, we’re inviting children to join the Silly Squad at www.summerreadingchallenge.org.uk

This year it’s all about funny books, jokes, happiness and having a laugh!

Children should go to the Silly Squad website and click on the blue ‘join the challenge’ link to sign-up but will need to check with a parent or carer as we need them to agree that’s ok!

Anyone between the ages of 4 and 11 can take part online by signing up to this Silly Squad safe digital platform and creating their own personal profile, setting their reading goals, keeping a record of their reading achievements, and seeing book recommendations. There are activities to download and by continuing to read toward their target they can collect online rewards and codes to unlock activities.

You can read more about Silly Squad at www.SillySquad.org.uk

Children can choose any books they’d like to complete the challenge. They don’t need to wait for their local library to open – they can read funny books online, or ones you already have at home. We have plenty of books (silly and sensible ones, too) ready to download.

Check out the links below and find enough FREE books to keep you reading right through the summer of 2020. Have FUN!
