The Governing Body of Coley Primary School meets three times a term and is responsible for setting the strategic framework of the school and monitoring its implementation. It acts as a 'critical friend' by holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils. Governors have a general responsibility for the conduct of the school with a view to promoting high standards of education achievement. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• making sure the curriculum is balanced and broadly based
