Welcome to Coley Primary School

Headteacher’s Welcome

LEARNING TODAY FOR OUR FUTURE TOMORROW

Welcome to our school. We are proud to be a nurturing, ambitious and inclusive community where every child is supported to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Our vision is rooted in high expectations for all. We are committed to delivering a high-quality, knowledge-rich curriculum that is carefully sequenced, inclusive and responsive to the needs of our pupils. We place a strong emphasis on reading, language development and deep learning, ensuring that pupils acquire secure knowledge, understanding and skills that prepare them well for the next stage of their education.

We believe that excellent behaviour, positive attitudes and strong relationships are the foundation for effective learning. Our pupils are encouraged to be respectful, resilient and responsible, and they take pride in their achievements and contributions to school life. We prioritise personal development, providing rich opportunities for leadership, creativity and wider experiences that broaden horizons and build confidence.

Inclusion is at the heart of our work. We are committed to meeting the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), vulnerable pupils and those who require additional support. We work closely with families, external agencies and professionals to ensure that barriers to learning are identified early and addressed effectively.

Attendance and punctuality are essential to success. We expect all pupils to attend regularly and on time, and we work in partnership with families to promote strong attendance and to intervene swiftly where concerns arise.

Safeguarding is our highest priority. We have a strong culture of vigilance and care, ensuring that pupils feel safe, valued and listened to. Our staff are highly trained, and robust systems are in place to protect children and support their wellbeing.

Strong leadership and governance underpin our school’s success. We are committed to continuous improvement through reflective practice, professional development and close collaboration with our community. We value partnership with parents and carers and believe that working together is essential to securing the best outcomes for every child.

We hope that our website gives you a clear insight into our values, our practice and our aspirations for all pupils. We warmly welcome visits to our school and look forward to working with you.
